Watt Coffee is…

Character (4)

Atmosphere: quiet place through the afternoon and early evening (weekday)

Size: medium to large (maybe upstairs seating)

Outdoor Seating: yes. A lot and very good. Pretty far from road so not too loud

Good for groups? yes

Good for work? yes

Merchandise for Sale? no

Writer’s Notes: I was immediately attracted to the unique industrial feel with wooden accents.

Comfort (4)

AC: very good

Wifi: fast

Electrical Outlets: yes…many

Music: great music, fits the feel of the shop, medium volume

Lighting: kind of dark, full of Edison lamps

Chair type: mostly metal chairs and stools but also a few couches

Food: burgers, pizza, snacks (great French fries) – a little bit of everything

Writer’s Notes: I stayed for several hours and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. In fact, I felt like I could just sit, drink coffee, and listen to the playlist. I love the feel of this place!

Coffee (3)

Brewing Methods: V60, Kalita, Espresso

Notable Equipment: La Marzocco Linea, Bonavita (or maybe Brewista?) kettle

Bean Variety: 4 single origin options

Roastery? yes

Price: 50k (manual brew); 35-50k (espresso based)

Writer’s Notes: The flat white was pretty weak/milky. The kalita brew was quite good (served with sparkling water) but nothing extraordinary for the slightly higher price of 50k.

Overall Rating: 3

Recommended? yes!

I loved it and will definitely consider going back whenever I am in Jakarta. Super cool place for either hanging out with friends or just sitting back quietly doing work.
